About Mirree Louise Bayliss
Mirree Louise Bayliss is a female Indigenous Artist, born in Dubbo in N.S.W, Australia.
Mirree began studies in Art in 1997 and has been painting ever since.
She completed her BA in Fine Arts in 2004 at the University of Newcastle.
During Mirree's studies she began researching her Aboriginal heritage & culture, taking trips to Bourke, Dubbo & Lightning Ridge in NSW.
These areas are regions in Australia that her family and ancestors have lived & traveled.
Mirree works with acrylics, inks & natural materials from the bush: these include beeswax, pigments, ochre, ash and dirt: her strong affinity with nature’s materials give her a sense of connection ,a sense of feeling, love & oneness for the nature world and its inhabitants.
Mirree collected most of these nature materials from her Dads country with her father, a place where she finds spiritual connection, healing and refuge.
Mirree is a Contemporary Aboriginal Artist from Wiradjuri country in NSW Australia. She has been painting since a teenager; she wishes to share her gift of painting & story telling to the world.
